Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land in which we work, live, and learn. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have moved to this region and the important role they all play in ensuring our young people and our families thrive in a connected, strong, and nurturing community.

Young Men’s Mentoring Group

The Gugan Gulwan Young Men’s Mentoring Group (YMMG) is a tailored, targeted program aimed at young men between the ages of 8 and 12 years. The purpose of this program is to address an unmet need for support for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men in the ACT region. As Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young men transition into adolescence, they often face additional challenges. The Young Men’s Mentoring Group provides strategies and support to help young men identify and address issues within their own self-identity, family and community, connection, and culture.

If you are seeking to apply for the Young Men’s Mentoring Group, Expressions of Interests (EOIs) are advertised at the beginning of Term 1 and Term 3 on our website and Gugan Gulwan’s social media pages closer to these dates. Please keep your eyes open.

Alternatively, you can contact the Program Coordinator at 6296 8900 Monday to Friday.

he Gugan Gulwan Young Men’s Mentoring Group meets every Thursday from 4-6 pm during school terms at Gugan Gulwan. To register for the Young Men’s Mentoring Group program, please click here.
