Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we walk, work, live and learn. We honour Elders past and present and extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who now call this region home. We recognise the strength, wisdom and care they bring to community, and the vital role they play in supporting our young people and families to grow strong, connected and thriving together.

School Holiday Program

The Gugan Gulwan School Holiday Program (SHP) provides a safe, culturally grounded, and engaging environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people during the school holiday period. The program supports connection, wellbeing, learning, and participation through a range of structured activities and excursions. This holistic, strengths‑based program offers opportunities for participants to build confidence, develop positive behaviours, strengthen cultural identity, and form positive peer relationships in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Activities are designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and cultural wellbeing while encouraging teamwork, respectful communication, and community connection.

The School Holiday Program is delivered across two age‑based weeks to ensure activities are developmentally appropriate:

Week 1: Children aged 8–11 years

Week 2: Young people aged 12–16 years

With a strong focus on cultural safety, inclusion, and fun, the program provides meaningful holiday experiences that support children and young people to feel connected, confident, and supported.

The Gugan Gulwan School Holiday Program runs in between ACT School Terms from 9am-3pm.
