Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land in which we work, live, and learn. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have moved to this region and the important role they all play in ensuring our young people and our families thrive in a connected, strong, and nurturing community.

R U OK? Day

R U OK? Day inspires and empowers everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life.

You don’t need to be an expert to reach out – just a good friend and a great listener.

Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:

  • Ask R U OK?
  • Listen
  • Encourage action
  • Check in

Gugan Gulwan Acknowledges the importance of R U OK? Day and how impactful looking out and connecting with your mob is. A simple conversation can change a life, and as a community, we all have a role to play for keeping an eye out for each other.

Gugan Gulwan is planning to hold an event in September. More information will be available on our socials closer to the date.
