Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land in which we work, live, and learn. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have moved to this region and the important role they all play in ensuring our young people and our families thrive in a connected, strong, and nurturing community.

Young Women’s Group

The Gugan Gulwan Young Women’s Group (YWG) is a tailored program designed to meet the needs of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women between the ages of 12-15 years in the ACT region. The program is holistic in design and provides opportunities for young women to engage in learning life skills and participate in group activities and educational information sessions. Participants in this program develop a deeper understanding of relevant contemporary issues affecting them, including the ability to self-advocate and to improve their own personal development/identity in an environment that is safe, free from judgement and culturally sensitive.

If you are seeking to apply to attend the Young Women’s Group, expressions of interest will be advertised at the beginning of Term 1 and Term 3 and will be advertised on our website and Gugan Gulwan’s social media pages. Please keep your eyes open.

Alternatively, you can contact the Program Coordinator at 6296 8900 Monday to Friday.

The Gugan Gulwan Young Women’s Mentoring Group meets every Wednesday at Gugan Gulwan from 4-6 pm during school terms. To register for the Young Women’s program, please click here.
