Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land in which we work, live, and learn. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have moved to this region and the important role they all play in ensuring our young people and our families thrive in a connected, strong, and nurturing community.

Parenting Our Way Program

The Gugan Gulwan Parenting Our Way (POW) program is tailored to meet the needs of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families in the ACT region. The program is holistic in design, addressing the needs of families and the wider community. The program provides opportunities for families to engage in the learning and development of life skills, group activities, community consultations, and educational information sessions. Participants in this program receive practical parental support, advice, and information on issues affecting them. The program is delivered in an environment that is safe, free from judgement, and culturally sensitive.

If you are seeking to join the Parenting Our Way (POW) Program, you can contact the Program Coordinator on 6296 8900 Monday to Friday.

The Parenting Our Way Program utilises subject-matter experts to facilitate community consultations and information sessions.

The Gugan Gulwan Parenting Our Way Program meets every Thursday from 4-6 pm during school terms at Gugan Gulwan. To register for the Parenting Our Way Program, please click here.
